Ad-blocking for Safari

AdBlock One is a free adblocker tool developed by Trend Micro. This program was made to work with the Safari web browser, which is primarily available and used in macOS. With it, you can prevent advertisements pop-ups on various websites and social media platforms.

Similar to other browser add-ons like Adblock or Adblock Plus, AdBlock One offers plenty of features and security measures to control user activity and experience while online. What makes it stand out is that it is one of the handfuls of tools made to work specifically with Safari.

How does AdBlock One work?

If you have used other browser add-ons for Firefox or Chrome before, using AdBlock One will feel familiar to you. It offers much of the same features and functionalities but works specifically for the Safari browser for macOS and iOS devices. You will be able to block online advertisements, pop-ups, and banners on various websites and even social media platforms, such as Facebook or Twitter.

Once installed, AdBlock One will appear as an icon in your Safari browser, next to the address bar to the left. It is very simple to use as you will only need to click its icon and toggle it on to enable its blocking features. From there on out, it will start working on all the sites that you will visit. You can even retain webpage layouts even after removing elements, so nothing gets moved around.

Lastly, you can make exceptions for certain websites, as well. This way, all elements in their web pages are kept intact and untouched. This is particularly useful for sites that you trust, or you need to have ads enabled for personal or work purposes. It can still miss blocking a few pop-ups now and then, though. Also, it experiences occasional freeze-up.

All in all, if you're macOS or iOS and you primarily use Safari for your web browsing needs, AdBlock One is well worth trying out. It is one of the few add-ons that was made specifically for it and worked quite well. It's fast, intuitive, and does not require much setup to start using. It works great out of the box. Recommended.
